Thank you for your interest in Shadai School! We welcome teachers from all across the globe. We are incredibly excited to welcome you to Honduras and the Shadai School family. Are you interested to serve the Lord in a Spanish speaking country? Are you enthusiastic about teaching in a missionary field? Do you have a passion for children? We can assure that whether for one semester or an entire school year, the experience you will have at Shadai School will be both astonishing and beneficial. Gain useful teaching and mission experience as you join national teachers to educate children academically and influence their lives spiritually.

No trip to Honduras would be complete without total immersion in the Honduran culture. Build Spanish speaking skills, and witness the breathtaking beauty of Central America, Travel throughout the nation visiting all Honduras has to offer. From small touristic villages to the white sand beaches of the Caribbean to the ancient Mayan temple ruins, discover the beauty of Honduras.

Don't speak Spanish?

Traveling to a new nation can be intimidating for anyone, especially when there is little or no knowledge of the language. At Shadai School all classroom instruction is given in English. Outside of the classroom you will develop your speaking and communication skills of the Spanish language.

Requirements

  • Born Again Christian

  • Age: Minimum 18 years

  • Education: Volunteer teachers must have completed at least one year of a college program. Completion of bachelors program preferred.

  • Valid Passport

  • Passion for teaching and willing to educate non-native English speakers.

  • Must love young people and others- Love is a self-sacrificing desire to meet the loved person's needs.

  • Be willing to teach at Shadai School for at least one semester or one school year.

NOTE:

Most Honduran Schools, including Shadai School, run from February to November. With a semester break in June. Summer opportunities granted on personal basis.

Teaching at Shadai

As a volunteer teacher you will work alongside our staff in order to bring 100% bilingual education from a Christian perspective to Honduran students. A Beka Book is the main source of teaching curriculum for K4- 11TH Grades.  You will have opportunities to not only teach academically, but to lead students spiritually.  

 

Available Positions

Pre-K – Kindergarten

As a teacher with these little ones you will enjoy teaching them basic English through A Beka Book Phonics and assist Shadai teachers with the general education young minds.

 

Elementary (First – Fifth)

Our Elementary       

Students are eager learners. They are study the English language through their studies. Along with English classes students study science, math, social studies, music and PE.

 

Secondary (Sixth-- Eleventh)

*Honduran schools run from K- 11TH Grade.*

 

Students further develop

their mastery of the English language. Academically chal -lenging classes such as social studies, math, science

and psychology push students for academic excellence as they prepare for University studies.
